I would not normally be attracted to a book with the picture of a submarine on the cover but the name of the author Michael Ridpath would make me pick it up every time. I have been a big fan since his first series of thrillers about high finance and latterly those based in Iceland.
The First Impression is written with the same attention to historical detail but in an easy to read and entertaining way.
