When I read the summary, I thought the book looked quite interesting. I was wrong....it was even more interesting than I thought. The story is fast paced, which is helped by the relatively short chapters and there are several dramatic and suspense high points thrown in to keep the readers more hooked than they already are. The book has some educational value as it alludes to classified historical information relating to events that could have led to a very different world today. It's also a bit chilling to see just how close the world could have come to nuclear war within (some of) our lifetimes. I digress so back to the book. The story switches back and forth between 1983 and 2019, the characters are quite convincing and (mostly) likeable and the ending also doesn't disappoint. If you like fiction, particularly historical thrillers, you'll like this one. Thank you to Readers First for sending it to me.
