I wasn’t sure what to expect from this book but when I started it I found it really exciting. It was fast paced, lots of things were happening and I was really looking forward to it. As the story went on though, I thought it began to lose a bit of steam. I didn’t think the investigation really rang true and in places I felt it was in turn, overly simplistic and then in others overly convoluted. The investigation seemed unrealistic. That said, it was an easy read and somewhat enjoyable but, as someone else has pointed out, I wouldn’t have called it a thriller, maybe more of a mystery. I guessed the murderer long before the end and felt the last few chapters were pretty drawn out. It wouldn’t put me off trying more books from this author though.
