I was really surprised how quickly Launch Code caught my attention and drew me in. The story is a mix of flashbacks to the 80s, the tension of the Cold War and Bill’s experience on the submarine and a current day Thanksgiving gathering of the Guth family and a few added extras. The cover makes the story look like an adventure style thriller but the reality is a great mix of family drama and secrets combined with some military exploits. As expected, things aren’t always what they may appear and as more is revealed it generates more questions for the reader. I found this a really engrossing read with lots of interesting characters surrounding a highly thought provoking situation. Don’t be put off if you aren’t a fan of war based books, this has way way more to offer!
