Love the cover of this....simple and very effective. I love to read novels about periods of history I know little about and political intrigue is always a winner for me. Probably not a lightweight summer read (for which there's always a need), but as a meaty novel that draws you into a whole new dangerous world and really gives you something to think about long after the last page, this certainly ticks all the boxes on a first impression.
