I confess I would probably normally skip over this book in a store as it looks really highbrow and overly seriously. Reading the synopsis though, I have to say it sounds quite intriguing. I like historical drama (though thinking more of the Jean Plaidy novels of my youth) so it would be interesting to check out a book relating to a period of history I'm not so familiar with! (I think it would really appeal to my Dad to so a good one to pass on!)
