About books and set in a bookshop, Lost Words obviously has immediate appeal to anyone who loves reading. I was drawn to the shopfront cover and into the pages just as I would have been drawn in through the door if the shop were real.
I found the initial scene, where Loveday has an altercation with a lady and child, rather clunky, but from then on the story flows and draws the reader in. I'm already fond of Loveday, drawn to her by little snippets like....' Also, I don't like people much. Well some are OK. But not enough to make it a given'. Already, like her, I love and want to indulge Archie. And of course I'm intrigued by Nathan Avebury... What does he want from her? Will she go to the poetry group etc.
I can't wait to find out more about Loveday and see her story unfold.
