I can't imagine anyone who loves books and words to not enjoy reading "Lost For Words" - it's like it's been written just for us!

A story about Loveday Cardew - a young girl who works and hides away in a bookshop, she's an introvert, has one loyal friend Archie (the bookshops owner) and doesn't enjoy or find it easy making small talk. What she does have is many literary tattoos on her body which tell much more about her. Written very well, with Loveday telling her story from chapters when she was little, to a stage with her ex boyfriend and the now period.

Firstly, i don't think I've ever related to a character so much in a book. I myself love words and quotes, but hate having to make small talk. I also prefer my own company. I'd also love to say i have my favourite quote tattooed on me - i've thought many times about it, but I'm too scared to actually get it done! Secondly, do not judge this book by it's cover, there's a lot more inside than you may think. Yes, there's humour and heartwarming moments, but there's an added air of mystery throughout and the author also tackles a range of tougher subjects: Mental health, domestic abuse, loss and the foster care system.

As well as being able to relate to the main character so well in this story, it felt even more personal to me as it was set in York - about half an hour from my little home town (which also gets a mention inside - I was far too excited at this!) and flipped back to Whitby. All these areas ive visited myself - so I pictured everything so clearly.

A beautiful cover, writing that flows fantastically, quirky characters, books, a bookshop, literary tattoos and a story that will really touch you, both with laughter and sadness. Lost For Words will definitely be in my favourite books of 2017!
