My goodness.

Quite honestly, this book was incredibly moving. I mean, perhaps I'm biased, which is fair enough - no bookworm can resist a book ABOUT books, a bookshop and a bookworm too!

Just a note, I rated this 4 stars, not because it doesn't deserve 5 stars, but because I'm usually a bit picky with my 5 starred books (I only reserve them for my favourites). This book would easily be a 5 star, but I'll leave it as a 4.5 - rated as a 4 on here. But make no mistake, this book is brilliant.

Loveday, our charming main character, is quirky, introverted, sweet and relatable. She's the epitome of who you'd want to chat to on a regular basis.

"I like books cause they don't care if your knickers match your bra. If you've washed your hair. I like books cause they don't invade your space. They sit on your shelf and don't get in your face. I like books cause they don't mind what your heart contains, who you've left behind. I like books cause they don't give a shit when you get to the end - what you think of it. Books don't care if you've got a degree or what you watch on TV. Books don't judge if you've got tattoos, if your friends are few. I like books cause they don't care."

I expected this book to be extremely light and a quick read, but I found unexpected (and beautiful) depths within the story that left me in awe of Butland's writing. This heartwarming and perceptive book is a must-read for all bookworms, or any prospective reader.
