This is one of those books that makes you feel all types of emotions. Those are the books that stick in your mind the most as you feel as though you are going through what the characters in the book are experiencing. I decided to read this after enjoying another of Stephanie Butland's novel 'The Woman in the Photograph'. I like her style of writing and how she writes in the present and also flashbacks of the past which makes the story easier to understand and more interesting.

I straight away loved Loveday. I loved her 'quirkiness' and 'awkward' personality which made her different from the rest but mostly I loved her passion for books. We know that she has experienced a traumatising event which has her placed into foster care, and its only until right near the end of the story that we find out the full details which honestly kept me gripped. I loved Archie and his care for Loveday; taking up the position of her father. You could say that this is a light and easy read but it is also very detailed, and also very moving. I'd highly recommend to anyone who is a lover of books and tear-jerkers! I truly hope that Stephanie continues to write books like this as they are so gripping!
