I chose this book to read because I liked the cover and I love books about books. I was not disappointed, it is an extremely moving read that made me want to turn the pages quickly so that I could get to the end. The story centres around a young girl called Loveday who has a troubled past which is slowly revealed during the course of the book. She works in a second bookshop which is beautifully described, where she immerses herself in her work reading and recommending books. She meets Nathan who writes and performs poetry. She becomes involved with Nathan and a relationship develops. The characters in the book feel real and I wanted to know their background and what happens to them. My favourite parts of the book are the literary references and the way Loveday has quotations of books tatooed on her body. All in all a good read.
