When I started reading Lost For Words, I expected a light hearted comical romance between a girls who worked in a bookshop and some man whom she would come to meet and when Nathan was introduce I was sure of it. I expected a mystery around Nathan and who he once almost was and perhaps who he has become but as the story progressed, I was pleasantly surprised that I was completely wrong. Ok, so there is a romance between the two of them but that was just a small part of the story and in fact I was shown the mystery of Loveday's past life. I saw myself in her. The love and fascination with books and not really wanting to care what other people think about her so much. But her background was the least expected. It was a lovely and heart breaking story of domestic violence and how a life can change through the system. And perhaps it's a story of how life can catch up with you and perhaps begin to repeat itself if you're not willing to speak up and talk to those who care about you or who you care about.

I loved the use of book genres for chapters and the love of words and poetry throughout. It's always refreshing for a book lover to read a book about someones love of books. Not going to lie, I also started searching for job at book stores too. Just to think about how much history each and every one of those second-hand books contains fascinates me. I'd love to search through boxes full and find whatever treasures I can!
