Takes a while to get going, but worth it when it does!

This is a book that gets better as it goes on. In the first few pages the voice of the character did annoy me little bit and I wasn’t sure I was going to enjoy the story, thinking it would be quite straightforward, but as it gets going the voice of the character starts to settle down and her voice makes more sense the more we learn about the character. The way the story was told and how it unfolded was not as obvious as I had thought it would be at the beginning. The book explores many themes like mental health, abuse and the foster care system on the UK. The book would suit anyone who wants to read something slightly outside of their usual genres. Just don’t give up in the first few chapters!
