After reading the first impression I knew I'd end up enjoying this book. I read it in two sittings - it was fast paced and the mystery/crime element of the novel kept me intrigued to the extent that 'one more chapter' ended up being the entire novel in a couple of hours. Whoops.

I liked that the story flipped back and forth between her childhood and to present day events. It was also a lot darker than I was anticipating, which I think set this apart from similar books in this genre.

Loveday was a believable character and some of her quirks and mindsets were very similar to my own. However, the romance aspect in this book had me feeling frustrated at times and irritated with Loveday - - I can understand why, but it still had me wanting to scream at her.

There were a number of errors in the print which irked me while reading, but other than that it was a definite page turner and I'd recommend this if you want a quick, easy read.
