The idea of a marriage pact, made when you're young and 30 seems a lifetime away, seems to be quite a common concept in books and films. However the story of what happens later on is not often told.
It seems the love may have already dwindled by the start of this book and some of the early paragraphs actually sound quite sinister as Kate speaks.
Though I am interested in what happens, I'm not intrigued enough to want to read this right away.
