I really really enjoyed this. It seems like the sort of book anyone would enjoy - it's definitely got some dark, adult themes in there but the author knows how to get you interested! I'm dying to know what the object Kate is concealing in her pocket from Paul is, and the author has really captured the innocence of childhood juxtaposed with the chapters from Kate's adulthood where darker things are at play. There is so much tension brewing, I ca't wait to see how it all kicks off.
In terms of the cover, I think going with either the tear, or the birds would be effective rather than both as the birds make the tear a bit visually confusing. However, that's very minor and the content of the book has me hooked. Would definitely read this!
