This style of writing isn’t normally my thing, constant flashbacks and different eras can often lead to me feeling confused and lost in the story, however here it was definitely needed as the vast majority of the book is giving you the backstory needed. For me, in the beginning, I found it hard to keep reading as the book didn’t particulalry grab me. However, I’m glad I persevered as I really enjoyed the book overall.
I often found the main character Kate enfuritating, willing her to make the right decisions when she so often did the opposite, however this definitely made her a more human character. I loved Viv, and wished that she was mentioned more towards the end of the book, as she definitely makes the book more of a lovely one.
I couldn’t guess the ending to this book in the beginning which is always a good thing for me, and even towards the end where I thought I knew what was happening- I really didn’t! Overall this was a lovely book, and I’d definitely recommend it to others, you just have to persevere a little.
