I really enjoyed reading this book. It was unlike anything I’d read before. I loved the characters and could relate to the ‘stuck in a rut’ feeling created throughout. The basis for the marriage was built on a promise made when the couple were kids but decided to honour it. However, they only really start to communicate better following a crash in a storm. Everything seems to hang on a letter that is seen, not that either of them are willing or able to discuss it.
Normally I’m not very good with the books that play with time, but the chopping and changing between past and present in this book didn’t bother me at all.
I found it relatable and engaging. Emotional and uplifting. All at the same time really. A really brilliant book.
