I cannot wait to read the rest of this book. It seems magical. What else can I say? Just from this extract, I can tell that this book has it all: interesting narrative voice, beautiful prose, an extremely clever premise, strong characters, lots of heart-wrenching and upsetting moments (but also many funny ones), great messages (but not too preachy).
It's different from most books- in a really good way.
The cover is simple and mostly a good fit for the book, although I'm not sure if it would catch my eye if I saw it in a bookshop. I personally would make it maybe brighter (e.g some more white space) or more playful (I know that this book has some heavy themes, but it's also quite funny, and perhaps the cover should suggest this).
