What an intriguing premise. This book takes the universal divide between rich and poor and illustrates it in an obvious but unique way - the more money you have the richer you are, with the poorest of the poor stuck the same size as the common rat, and just as desirable.
I'm not sure about the style of writing, with its joinedupwords and dumbing down of language - however it makes the story feel unique from the first page and the first few chapters did read quickly and smoothly.
I'd be interested to see whether or not I enjoy this, as for now I just can't tell.
