I really am struggling to write a review for this book as I’ve never really read anything like it. From the insane world and plot to the strange writing style, nothing was normal. But, this is what made it so compelling.

This alternative America is so well set out by Jesse Andrews. Everything is explained so well from the lifeanddeathworld to the dreamworld. You just get completely sucked into this strange world. The dreamworld scenes were just so beautifully written.

At first I didn’t realise it was set in our world until they mentioned Brad Pitt and Ryan Gosling about half way through. That did throw me a bit, but I probably should have guessed that ‘Yewess’ was U.S.

The writing which consisted of strange spaces in words and a lack of spaces between words was difficult to get into at first and nearly put me off the book overall, however I did get used to it after about 100 pages. Apart from this the writing style flowed so easily and was simply elegant.

As I said at the start of this review it’s impossible to really review this book as there’s nothing like it, so I guess you’ll just have to give it a read.
