I actually whizzed through this book which surprised me because when I started it I thought it might be a bit slow and tedious. Not at all! Jesse uses language in a very clever way that creates such a clear picture of the characters - especially Warner. It is a very different style to anything I’ve read before and it definitely wouldn’t be everyone’s cup of tea but I really enjoyed it.
My absolute favourite part of this book is Warner’s interpretation of other people’s conversations - they are so perceptive and incredibly funny at times.
The whole book is a very perceptive and revealing look at society and selfishness. It really highlights the class divide in our country and hit home at times. A very powerful book.
