The book started pretty strong, the characters were likable and the journey seemed like it was going to be tough and interesting.
Unfortunately it never really delivered, lots happened but maybe too much. Rather than sticking to a narrative of the journey to get rich there was so many obstacles that seemed to just come out of nowhere. I began to dislike the main characters and just get bored with the choices they made. The premise was good and I feel that the story could have worked as a dystopia without all the extras of the gangs and the ending felt over the top. I struggled with the writing style with the literal spelling though I did understand it was to represent the illiteracy of the littles.
