Munmun is a young adult fantasy novel about Warner and his sister Prayer who navigate their world (which is alternative reality of ours) as littlepoors. In their world your physical size is directly proportionate to your wealth.

What intrigued at first was that this is described as a ‘social novel of our times' and compared to the works of Douglas Adams and 1984.

This is a pretty unique book and if you’ve read any other works of Andrews ('It’s kind of a funny story' etc) you’ll see why. The dialogue is a little different ; there’s quite a lot of made up words which didn’t sit well with me but I got used to it and it added to it overall.

This story takes some time getting used to but around 1/3 of the way in it really started picking up and almost made me cry at times. The main character Warner and his sister go through major change and it’s really a creative way on how society sees classes.
