Great idea, weak story

This is a difficult book to rate. It's a brilliant idea, cleverly done, but I didn't like the main character much and I found the dialect hard to follow. That's largely me, though, I've never been good at dialect.

The book was compared to Douglas Adams so I was expecting humour, but there isn't any, really. There's no real explanation of the dreaming stuff, either; it just sort of happens alongside the main events. The money/account stuff was well thought out ... a Munmun account and a regular account ... but so much else was unexplained. This is a great metaphor, but that's as far as it went in my opinion.

An interesting concept, but not for me, sadly. I'll watch out for more by the author, though; an imagination like this deserves to be cherished.
