I've gone with three stars mainly because I genuinely can't decide if I loved this book or absolutely hated it. It's original, dark, and ambitious... the use of language is really clever but managed to equally impress and irritate me. Similarly the characters were just as divisive for me - I really wanted to be rooting for the protagonist, Warner, but he was just too shallow! He's also described as a teenager, and the book reads largely like a Young Adult book, but the themes and some of the language used would not be suitable for teenagers in my opinion. I also think the ending felt fairly rushed and left too many loose ends. Having said that, I really praise the author for the intent within.
