I loved the premise of the book, but I didn’t expect to love it as much as I did! Goes straight onto my favourites list, for sure. So thankful to Readers First and Allen & Unwin for providing me with this great read, as I never would’ve known about it.
This might just be the funniest book I’ve ever read. I don’t think its humour or the writing style would appeal to everybody - it’s quite bizarre - but it certainly tickled me.
The characters were brilliant; I loved their crazy dialogue and the words they used. So much heart and I actually cared about what happened to them.
The book reminded me of The Borrowers, but far more ‘out there’ and adult and satirical. So, to anyone who’s wondering whether to give this a go, I’d recommend it. Because you might not love it, you might not even like it, but you certainly won’t have read anything quite like it before!
