Murder Mile is the very first detective style novel that I have read and I can definitely see it becoming a firm favourite genre of mine. This is a novel about a detective in her new role, there's multiple murders and no sign of any suspects. Tensions are high and personal lives are getting in the way.
Although this novel is set in the 70s I believe, I found it to be written in a very modern way. Most of the time I forgot the time period except for when old fashioned cars were mentioned as a popular vehicle.
I found this novel to be very enjoyable and interesting, the writer is well informed regarding police duties and protocol for a murder investigation. The story was detailed and suspenseful. It kept me turning the pages, wanting to know what was happening!
