Another fantastic book in the Jane Tennison series. This goes back to when Jane is a newly promoted sergeant but still finding the daily challenges of being a female in a still predominantly male environment quite difficult. As the bodies of female victims turn up, Jane Tennison is put into a position where she has to make some decisions, not always the correct ones according to her superiors. Jane has a gut feeling about a possible suspect but as she is trying not to get further reprimands she has to find out facts without her colleagues knowing. Jane has to work quickly before anyone else is murdered so when it emerges that the son of a murder victim has possibly been sexually abused by the murderer Jane puts herself in some dangerous situations.
I was completely absorbed in this book and would highly recommend it.
