This is the second book I've read in the Tennison series but I felt I struggled to get stuck in the storyline this time.
I like that the pressures of being a woman working in a male dominated field is included in the storyline of this series which is set in the 70s.
The storyline didnt grip me as much as her previous book, Good Friday, and I didn't feel the need to know what happened next as strongly. It may have been that I read this whilst working night shifts and just didnt have the same concentration. But in saying that, the writing style left me feeling more knowledgeable about the police force and investigative processes despite entering the series without knowing much terminology.
I'm not sure if I would read more from this series because it isn't my usual genre and I did find I would put this book down to read other books that I was enjoying more.
If you are a fan of crime novels then I would recommend giving this series a chance.
