I haven't read any of the other Jane Tennison thrillers but I certainly will be after thoroughly enjoying this one.
The scene setting is excellent as it effortlessly takes you back to 1979 and describes the world of policing that we remember only too well. As a woman in a male dominated team Jane has to prove her abilities and, at times, begins to doubt herself as a result of trying too hard. So as a reader you join her on this journey and you find yourself really rooting for her.
The plot is very cleverly written and gives just enough away to let you 'join in' with the search for the murderer but there are interesting twists too.
This book I'm sure will be flying off the shelves this autumn and Lynda la Plante will gain some new readers.
