I loved this book and read it in just one weekend. The writing style is easy, comfortable without being overly descriptive; the storyline moves forward with lots of dialogue which gives the reader insight into the personality and nature of the characters. Snippets of home life situations and relationships woven into the main storyline all contribute towards ‘getting to know’ the main characters.

The plot was excellent. Jane Tennison, as always, was one step ahead in solving the murders but her senior officers are not always as appreciative as one would expect. The occasional errors, cover ups and snide remarks which occur between staff add a ring of authenticity.

Linda La Plante doesn’t disappoint - a well written, well plotted story and fully deserving of the high rating I have awarded it.
