I like the bold, modern cover. The characters are well written and behave in a manner believable for the era when the book is set. I enjoyed the tension of the story and of the interplay between the police officers; very different characters who frequently do not seem to particularly like each other or have a history between them. They get the job done efficiently despite this. The author takes her time to dole out the strands of the story, not producing all the murder victims at once. She also skilfully changes the suspects and keeps you guessing until the end. There are two final twists, one of which, intriguingly, is not fully resolved. An easy, fast paced read that keeps you interested until the very end.
