Another fantastic Jane Tennison thriller !
I was absolutely thrilled to receive my review copy of Murder Mile.
Set during the period early in 1979 which has forever after been known as "The Winter of Discontent " An uncomfortable time when it seemed as though the entire country was on strike . The book perfectly captures the feel of this period . All the binmen were on strike so the rubbish just piled up all over the streets .
Jane Tennison has been sent to Peckham CID . She is now a detective sergeant and is more than capable of coping with the sexism which is still rife at this time . While the streets are filling with rubbish , a murderer is adding to the heap . Two bodies are found within two days . Is Jane looking for a serial killer or is it just a coincidence ?
With few clues to go on are the CID looking in the right places ? Jane begins to think they are not .Who will be right ?
This is a book full of suspense right to the very last page and I loved it !
