Lynda La Plante is one of my favourite authors, I've read her books and watched every episode of Prime Suspect. I've recently read Widows by Lynda La Plante, and was hooked into every word, if you haven't read it I honestly recommend reading it. Murder Mile is the next book I recommend. In Murder Mile my favourite character Jane Tennison, has been promoted to sergeant, in Peckham. The time frame is set in 1979 with temperatures sub-zero. Jane finds a dead woman in an alley near some lockups where market traders store their stalls and goods. Unfortunately the dead woman hasn't any ID on her. But this is not the first murder. More bodies are found and as the killings are found each one seems to become quite frightening and more gruesome. Once again Murder Mile is excellent paced throughout. Meanwhile I'm looking forward to my next book by Lynda La Plante.
