Overall, I enjoyed Murder Mile. The story was well thought through and was very suspenseful - it kept me reading. In particular, I enjoyed the forensic science aspect La Plante included. It not only adds credibility to the dialogue but also allows the reader to learn about forensic techniques they may otherwise have been unaware of. However, the plot of Murder Mile is predictable. Jane Tennison, the protagonist, is the only female detective and has to sometimes fight to be heard and taken seriously. To me, it was obvious Jane would solve the murders in the end. The dialogue between the characters was cringy at times and so was the style of writing. This was the first Lynda La Plant novel I have read but I would consider reading another of her novels. Thank you for sending me Murder Mile.
