This is a nonfiction book about murder. I hate books about crime/murder nonfiction. The crude drawings of a noose, a knife, and other instruments of death do not sit well with me. Then again, murder does not sit well with anyone, only if you are that way inclined.

Out of curiosity, I turned to the first page, then the second, the third and so on. I read what the author had to say. She talks about how murders were seen in Victorian times, the beginning of detective novels in the mid-nineteenth century. It is beginning to get interesting. The author is right about one thing, whether we like it or not we are all fascinated by murder. What a horrible thought.
