Truth is stranger than fiction
How can one resist a book whose Introduction includes references to figures as disparate as Bertolt Brecht, Bobby Darin and Tom Jones? Or that boasts the truth of murder is "stranger, darker and more compelling than any fiction"? It sounds absolutely fascinating as well as holding the prospect of challenging some widely held assumptions.
