A fascinating read providing the historical facts associated with the meanings of well known songs and the history behind the current laws governing murder and manslaughter.

Who knew that in England thousand of years ago killing somebody was not dealt with by the law but by making financial restitution, what was that life worth! On the arrival of the Vikings came the beginning of changes with the introduction of Danelaw where killing was recognised and dealt with by the law. It is shown how the dreadful deeds carried out by various killers, negligent corporations, victims, lawyers and judges have paved the way for changes to the laws governing the most heinous crimes.

The style of writing is clear providing concise explanations from beginning to end. A must read for me and anyone interested in true crime.

Congratulations to the writer of this one for making such a complex subject easy to understand for readers.

Loved the front cover with various macabre instruments of death.
