When I first saw this book I was desperate to read it but unfortunately the reality didn't hold up to my expectations.
I find true crime one of the most interesting and exciting genres to read as I am fascinated by why people behave in such a violent and inhumane way however I found that the crimes were overpowered by the impact this had on the courts and legislation.
To an extent that was really interesting to discover the reasons why we find ourselves governed by current law however I felt that the victims stories were lost through this and for every quick glimpse at the crime it was followed by a somewhat tedious explanation of the impact on current legislation.
I think maybe this didn't feel right for me because I able become so used to a story whereby we explore the impact of actions in opposed to something more academic and clinical which I felt this was.
