So you think you know about murder? Make sure you read this first. This book explores how murder is defined and the complicated way in which the term 'murder' has been applied and has changed throughout our history. There are cases that have quite literally changed the law when it comes to murder and the book examines how it's not a simple process to try someone for murder, either for judge or jury.

Social changes have meant that the definition of murder has had to adapt - from Tudor times (premeditative intent), to Georgian duels, Victorian medical negligence and the 'watering down' with manslaughter charges. The book moves right up to the present day, looking at how companies can be fined more for environmental damage than for causing death by negligence (the Grenfell tower disaster, for example).

Highly recommend a read and also a beautiful front cover and book design!
