I will start my review by saying that i am not a fan of true crime, when my friends discuss the most recent grisly story on Netflix, i tend to roll my eyes and switch off.

I decided to give this book a go as its very different from what I usually enjoy, as i tend to prefer fiction.

The book itself is 304 pages before it becomes bibliography, glossary, index and acknoedgements. I enjoyed the book so much that i finished in little over 24 hours.

The cover of the book is grey with sketched images of murder weapons. It reminds me somewhat of a text book.

The is written by a trained law professional, detailing a history of murder in the Uk.

I found it fascinating. The book started with some statistics which i sat reading to my husband, much to his annoyance. It also discussed some modern day media references to murder, such as the song mack the knife - i had no idea it was so grisly!

Over the chapters the reader learns of different types of murders, detailed by specific examples. It had me on a google mission researching so many of the stories.

Upon finishing the book i feel informed, and i have an interest to jnderstand more about legal history & historical murders.

I would recommend this book to readers of all genders, i would not recommend for a younger reader, as it may be somewhat upsetting.
