A collage within a collage

Short, snappy sentences which tell an unbelievable story. Teenagers are jumping from buildings, and vanishing in mid-air. The truth may be to do with the man called Icarus, or it may be to do with UFOs. Either way, Jaz knows nobody is willing to listen to the truth. Except the reader.

I love the pace of the novel. We are given regular hooks to keep us intrigued. I'm also interested in the portrayal of social division. As Jaz says, Comprehensive education isn't so comprehensive when some people can afford tutors to patch up the differences.

Jaz's friend Becky suffers from mental health problems, as a result of parental pressure. I would love to see whether the events reflect this theme.

There is also some great exploration on the process of story-writing. Is it cheating, to treat a story like a collage? I love how this description describes the story we are reading, with its modern themes, the Greek hero, the UFOs and the dome of St Paul's Cathedral. Reading it is going to be like a game of connect the dots, where the numbers are filled in as you go along.
