Not certain about this
First things first; I thought the book cover was eye catching and clever, it incorporates story elements and the elongated building reminded me of a telescope, giving you the sense that the story may be told from a distance, or the need to pay close attention.
When it comes to the story however, I'm not as sold. A girl lost her best friend-she's presumed dead by most people, but the narrator tells us she simply vanished. There's an odd mixture of character names from quite normal/mundane, to more unusual, which felt out of place to me.
I would be interested in knowing how this ends, but I'm not certain the narrator's voice works well enough for me to read more.
