This story uses a mix between long and complex sentences and short and simple ones to add a layer of dramtic suspense to the story. Upon reading the first few lines I was already enthralled as the author uses language and vocabulary that is mysterious almost forcing you to read on. The first chapter tells the story of how a girl was ridiculed by people in power so I felt inclined to read on in the hope that the girl would find her voice and speak out.
The language in this novel isn’t ambitious as such but it is worded in a way that leaves you enthralled and guessing. So far the story line is mysterious and quite sinister in my eyes because how can a girl just vanish? This being said it was the mystery that spurred me to read on and I thought ally enjoyed the little extract from the beginning of the book. I can’t wait to read on more and delve deeper into the story.
