I've never read any of Rory Clement's novels...now I've ordered Corpus and Nucleus (the 2 earlier books of this series) and I'm really looking forward to reading them! Whilst Nemesis is the third novel in the Tom Wilde series, it was a great read as a standalone book...the only reason I'm going to read the earlier two novels is because I thoroughly enjoyed Nemesis.

Historical fiction is one of my favourite genres and Nemesis combines this with my other favourite fiction, crime/thriller. Tom Wilde and his partner (will they, won't they get married!!) Lydia, are both likeable characters who bring a softer, romantic edge to the story line. During a holiday in France, Wilde rescues Marcus Marfield from a concentration camp in the foothills of the Pyrenees where Marfield has been interned after fighting the Falange in Spain.

Right from the start of this novel, the plot is engaging and the action fast-paced with some great twists. Great read & highly recommended.
