Book Review:

Having not read No Virgin by Anne Cassidy I was scared about picking up No Shame in the vain that I might not understand the whole plot, however, this was not a problem and No Shame was an honest and Frank book focusing on a rape trial.

First I have to say that this book does deal with a rape trail and therefore does feature written scenes focusing on this so a trigger warning is needed for rape and sexual abuse which are the main focuses of this book. These could be uncomfortable to read at times but they were needed in the book to explain the situation.

I do think that this book is really important especially in the world we are currently living in but I guess that I was really disappointed by the ending. The ending does depict a reality that many people do go through on a daily basis but I would have liked this to be different to give people who go through this to believe that it is possible for criminals to be put to justice. This is something that is so needed right now.

The book, however, is really honest and although this is something that I have ever experienced before seemed realistic and to me, that was a good part of it.

I really did like the main protagonist and she was very honest and was an accurate interpretation of someone in her situation and I felt for her. She also had a future and her character did grow as the book progressed.

I did like an aspect of the end if the book and I feel like it was something that could happen as some people do not want to go forward.

The Verdict:

Although I do have done negative thoughts for no Shame it is an important read for the world we live in today and shod be read by many. I also would like to read No Virgin now.
