Honest and unflinching
After dealing with date rape in No Virgin, Cassidy now delves into the difficult circumstances of a rape trial with No Shame.
I believe the author wants us to root for Stacey our protagonist not because she is 'likeable' but because her cause is just and as such Stacey makes excuses for those who don't deserve it.
The narration is like a confession and as such doesn't play out like a classic court room drama, there is no 'you can't handle the truth moment'. This is an honest, brutal, realistic encounter with the whole court experience through Stacey. The before, during and aftermath of a rape victims ordeal. Evoking a range of emotions, this deals with it deals with the uncomfortable subject matter with in your face honesty.
