I didn't realise until finishing this book that No shame is a follow up to No virgin. It reads perfectly well as a stand alone novel, however it is very much a book written from the aspect of the rape trial and how the lives have been affected since the event. If you wanted more of an insight into the actual event, maybe in would be better to read both books together.

It is written in a simple way, short chapters and easy to read in one or two sittings. I feel the naivety of the writing suits the seventeen year old main character well.
I enjoyed this book (although the subject matter is obviously a tough one to stomach) but never really felt like we scratched the surface in terms of character or plot. Maybe this is due to the fact I hadn't read the first book, I couldn't say.
However, an important novel about the importance of standing up for what you know to be true.
