My initial impression from reading the book blurb was that this would not be my sort of book at all. However, after reading the first 3 chapters I have to admit that it looks as though I could be completely mistaken in that thought.

This appears to be more a Ken Follett style sweeping saga than merely another "World War II book". We have already been introduced to a range of disparate characters on both sides of the warring factions and things are just beginning to heat up as war is looking more and more imminent.

The writing style flows well and characterisation appears to be strong. although, the German War Office guys feel a little stereotypical in a 1970s Colditz way.
